It has been a while since I provided an update on Laila and her treatment, and mostly that is because we are just going through the motions of her treatment at this point.

Perpetually counting down the days, weeks, months until her last scheduled treatment scheduled for the first week in December. And, then HOPING that that her final scans on December 10th come back clear and cancer free!
In the meantime, she continues to be the happy, smiley baby we love, despite the nausea and discomfort she experiences following her double doses of chemo. Sadly, the larger doses of chemo really do a number on her little (but growing) body, and cause her to be nauseous, fussy, sleepless and generally uncomfortable for about seven days following treatment. The good thing is, she only has chemo every three weeks now. The bad thing is that when she has it, it take a toll.
On the off weeks, we have home health nurses who come to our house to take her blood and vitals. Making sure that she doesn’t need a transfusion or fluids during the weeks we aren’t scheduled to visit the hospital. And so far, so good.
But, I repeat - we cannot wait until all of this is over.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, entitled “#TeamNoSleep. There was a period in time, before her tumor was removed, where Laila was not sleeping - AT ALL.
And out of desperation we turned to CBD.
I know it is controversial to give a child, let alone an infant, CBD, but we were desperate. I asked her oncologist what she thought and she said - “go for it.” She expressed that it would not cause any harm or impact her treatment, so if it works, use away.
So, we did. And it worked - miracles.
Aside from chemo weeks, Laila is back to sleeping like the champion she is, but I will never forget how much CBD helped her through the worst stages of her treatment.
It was for that reason that my best friend and I talked about to starting a little CBD brand, inspired by Laila and her story.
And as a result, Warrior Wellness CBD was born.
To start, we are launching a CBD that is infused with melatonin, to help people with sleep problem relax and fall asleep fast. It is called “Lights Out.”

We do not know if this will be a success, but if we can help one person get a better nights sleep from CBD, especially someone suffering from cancer, just as it did for Laila, it was worth the shot.
So, if have trouble falling asleep, and are looking for a natural sleep solution, check out our product at www.warriorwellnesscbd.com. And follow us on Instagram @warriorwellnesscbd.
Hopefully there will be more products to come.
PS - HUGE thank you to everyone who continues to follow along and support us from near and far. We love you.
So happy to get this update! I have been wondering how all of you are doing. Sounds like it is pretty stressful still, but at least the countdown continues to head in the right direction! She still looks so happy and smiling! Wore my Warrior shirt the other day when we had a (too short!) cool down and got asked about it several times. Still hoping and praying for a perfect outcome for all of you and a long, carefree period to get your lives back. Sending tons of love and wishes for all good things for all four of you.
